Curry Club brought together some of London's best chefs during lockdown to send out 2500 meals to people experiencing food insecurity. They are now looking ahead to stage two, which will see a focus on dining experiences for people in need of social engagement, but for whom the cost of restaurants is out of reach. The idea of Curry Club is to have set tables, flowers, great produce cooked with love and a warm environment for people to share and connect. It's about the occasional special meal out, and the importance of shared food experiences being available to everyone.

E5 Bakehouse has been a big supporter and collaborator of the project and we're super excited to host the first bar-b-que! This is the first in a series of fundraising events that aims to bring dining out to a wider cross section of London residents. There will be seats reserved for charity groups to eat for free and the event is PWYF 'pay what you feel'. There will be suggested prices for each dish, but the amount you pay will be discreet. If you can't afford it that's ok, if you can afford to then you can cover your neighbour.

Expect some smoking, grilling, pickling, baking, currying and music, brought to you by people volunteering their time and love to the cause. The vibe will be small sharing plates, with some more details over the next few weeks. All profits will go towards future dining out experiences for people with food insecurity that are in need of a safe social space. It's going to be a party not to miss!

Tickets are £5 and will be limited so get yours asap! There will be some craft beers and natural wines to purchase at the bar and the food is PWYF.

If you can't make the event but would like to donate, please visit the crowdfunded page here.
