Fermentation is the common thread in almost everything we produce at e5. Most people would think fermentation is linked to our breads only, but we actually play with a wide variety of fermentation techniques and work with so many ingredients that have been through a fermentation process before we get to use them. We absolutely love the different processes of fermentation and e5 wouldn’t exist without it. Lots of experimenting has led to some amazing quality products. So! It’s high time we created a class that discusses lots of different fermentation methods for a variety of uses.

This hands on workshop will show you the magic and simplicity of fermentation using fresh produce from Fellows Farm and other neighbouring producers. Your teacher, Mariana, will guide you through three different types of fermentation, for this class we will focus on making water kefir, a ferment with vegetables and herbs you'll be harvesting on our farm and a sauerkraut. You will go home with three different jars/bottles and a booklet with all the information and techniques.

This class is taking place in Suffolk at Fellows Farm.
