Fermented food and drink - An Introduction

Welcome to the world of fermented foods!

 

During this class we will create four popular ferments of sauerkraut, kimchi and kombucha and kefir. If your fermented food bill is starting to rival the cost of your utility bills, this class will give you the confidence to produce delicious batches at home that will be affordable and should keep you in kraut for months

 

Traditional recipes never contain more than a handful of ingredients. Across the evening we will taste finished products, make our own for take away and learn all about how to manage our ferments at home, to cultivate the flora and bacteria our guts need.

 

Fermentation isn’t just a great way to preserve food for longer. There are plenty of positive bacterias and acids that build up during the process, offering great, forgotten flavours.

 

These bacterias also have the ability to unlock vital nutrients in our food that are otherwise unavailable to us

 

Alongside our ferments tasting, there will be a selection of e5 sourdough and cheese’s to eat.

 

You’ll take home a goodie bag of ferments in a beautiful Weck jar and a glass flip-top bottle, as well as recipes from the class.

The class costs £75 per person and you can book through the online booking system.

Cancellation policy

 

We appreciate that there will be circumstances whereby you will need to cancel your booking or change the date.

 

Bookings cancelled more than 14 days prior to the start of a course will be refunded. Alternatively you may transfer to another date free of charge.

 

Bookings cancelled within 14 days of the start of a course are non-refundable and non-transferable, the only exception being if we are able to refill your place. If we are able to do so a full refund will be given, or you may transfer to another date.
